2023-2024 Application for USAV Sanctioning - Events and Activities

1) All participants during listed events must have a current USA Volleyball membership for all date(s) of the activity.  All Coaches must have a status of "Eligible" before participating in any listed events.

2) The Event must be implemented exactly as indicated on this Application and as approved by the REGION.

3) Once this form is submitted on this site and any sanction fees due are RECEIVED by the Carolina Region (if applicable), the Region will mark the sanction request as APPROVED (clubs should receive an email with their status updates).  The club contact will also receive an email if their request is denied or we need more information.  Clubs that do not receive a denial notification may proceed with their event as USAV-sanctioned.

In order to be eligible for liability and sport accident insurance coverage, all USA Volleyball events must be sanctioned, including practices. Please provide the following information to the Carolina Region in order to have your event sanctioned. This information will be accessible in the MMS for reference and to ensure that your club/team is covered under the USA Volleyball liability and sport accident insurance. These policies are only in force for activities directly related to Carolina Region or USAV sanctioned events and organized practices NOTED ON THIS FORM. Any practices or events held on dates or times that are not listed on this Request Form or at a different site may not be covered by the USAV Insurance Program.  If more than one date, time or facility is used, submit an additional application for each one.  You may submit additional applications at any time as more dates, sites, or times are added.  Times, dates, and facilities not listed on a Sanction Request Form will not be sanctioned. Event Sanctions are good for the current Membership year only – September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2024.

DEADLINES: Practice Sanction Requests are due at least 24 hours in advance of first practice (There is NO sanction fee for indoor practices that are sanctioned). Practices are defined as training for USAV indoor teams during the USAV indoor season only (Sept 1, 2023 – July 11, 2024).  USAV Practices will not be approved until the team is registered and marked as PAID in the 2024 USAV Season Management.  Non-Practice Volleyball Events (Open Gyms, Tryouts, clinics, camps, developmental leagues, Outdoor clinics/practices, fundraisers) are due ONE (1) week in advance of the event to allow for review and approval and require a $15 Sanction Fee (or higher) with application. Do not use this form to request a Tournament Sanction. There is a separate Request form for Tournaments available at http://www.carolinaregionvb.org/td-information-resources/.

TRYOUTS: Clubs that submit a sanction request for a Tryout are affirming that they will abide by the Athlete and Club Bill of Rights and the Junior Tryout and Commitment Date Policy.  Violations of those documents will void the event sanctioning and the sanction fee will not be refunded.  All participants (coaches and athletes) must have current USAV memberships and meet any eligibility requirements (background screens/SafeSport) during the tryout in order for the sanctioning to be active.
